Despite the challenges presented by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we managed to plant 100 more fruit trees with the help of Noomi and her family. These fruit trees will benefit, local eco systems and families for generations to come.

Be it exquisite or so humble, for many of us, there’s no place like home. Home is where the heart is. I believe every place where the heart is needs a fruit tree.

Adding a fruit tree in a compound is one of the best things you could do this year. This fruit tree will not only be a carbon sink, it will also boost localized cooling, household nutrition and income.

So, while you may be in your country wondering how you could make a difference, how you could stand with the communities on the front line of the climate crisis. I assure you that you are not too small to make a difference.

When you do activism in Austria or Europe in general you need to be loud to raise up your voice. You need to go striking and organizing blockades and some people are also doing civil disobedience. For me it was a total new experience to see how activism has to be in other parts of the world.

I have never planted trees before, because in Austria nobody would do that to create awareness to the climate crisis. However, I was very glad to get to know how climate activism in Uganda looks like.

When we started the tree planting it was overwhelming to see how dedicated all Rise-Up-Movement activists are. During the planting we had a lot of fun together and laughed all lot. Also, the kids in Bukerere helped us to plant 100 fruit trees.

I’m so grateful to meet activists from Uganda and made new friends. We haven´t known each other but up from the first second we were on the same wavelength. Thank you so much that I could gain this experience. Together we will fight the climate crisis and stand-up for climate and social justice!

We are creating a product that we all need, cleaner air. We can all be part of the solution. Are you ready to work on your environmental foot print?
